The First Disposable 360 Degree Face Shield

1. Full 360 Degree Protection

We innovated the standard one piece face shield by adding a second shield to protect the back of the head/neck as well as the sides of the face/neck.

2. Fully Adjustable Sizing

With a wide variety of fitment sizes the 360 Face Shield has the ability to adjust to all head sizes and is compatible with all standard forms of PPE such as bonnets, gowns and glasses.

3. Standard Anti-Fog / Anti-Glare Materials

Although we have revolutionized how the face shield offers protection we have not forgot about some of the most basic functions of the face shield such as Anti-Fog and Anti-Glare technology.

Bloodborne pathogens are pathogenic microorganisms present in human blood that can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (e.g. Ebola)

Exposure of Central Sterile Supply workers to Multidrug Resistant Organisms (MDROs) from contaminated medical supplies or equipment is common.  Examples of these organisms include:

Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE)

Clostridium difficile (C. Diff)

Methicillin/Oxacillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

Examples of when PPE is required:

•When employees remove heated items or change out detergent from cleaning equipment, such as washer/decontaminators, or ultrasonic, tunnel or cart washers that automate the dispensing of washing chemicals.

•When employees handle hazardous detergents and chemicals to clean equipment and surfaces.

Researchers raise the alarm on splashing during reprocessing

The Study Summary

This pilot project found that routine reprocessing activities generated substantial splashing, with droplet dispersal of up to 5 feet away from decontamination sinks. Currently recommended PPE did not adequately protect SPD personnel from exposure to clean water and cleaning solution during simulated activities, which would be presumed to be highly contaminated during normal daily activities. In the context of PPE shortages like those seen during COVID-19, reprocessing personnel should be prioritized with regard to high quality, well-fitting PPE and training on using and doffing to protect them against splash exposure. In addition, manufacturers should be encouraged to develop engineering solutions that reduce the risk of personnel exposure and cross-contamination, including barrier systems and automated, mechanical reprocessing methods whenever possible, as recommended by the World Health Organization. Our experiments documented the generation of droplets when IFU and guidelines were followed. Given these findings, more research is needed to support the development of evidence-based guidelines and instructions for safely reprocessing medical instruments.

During The Study Droplets Travel Up To 4ft Away!

The Solution... 360 Splash Shield

Our Story

Noticing there was a gap in the PPE practice we set out to create a better Face Shield that will enhance the protection of the user.  Traditional Face Shields only protect the front of the user's face and often times their neck, ears are still at risk for droplet splash exposure
